Need & Strategy

The representation of minorities in businesses, governance, and ownership of resources is a matter of critical concern for the nation. For a prosperous and inclusive society here is a need, amongst minorities, to grow and grow uniformly.

Due to lack of awareness of different welfare programs and schemes, and lower participation in the education, the under-representation of the community in the jobs and businesses, their ability to avail the schemes and opportunities continues to be a matter of concern. This drives a need to increase targeted assistance to generalize available opportunities so that all communities are benefited.

IMEDA envisions the role of facilitating through its various verticals and networks to help the community avail what is available to be availed in terms of education, training, skills, funds, schemes, employment, businesses and market opportunities. IMEDA works closely with the Governments at different levels, civil society organizations and professional bodies through IMEDA Fellows at the districts, blocks and city levels to ensure that process of availing of the schemes is simplified and the targeted beneficiaries facilitated. IMEDA will primarily be focusing on the following intervention areas:

Jobs

Sharing of vacancies, assistance in enrolling with job portals, employment exchanges, training and coaching.

Skills Training and Capacity Building

Organizing workshops by collaborating with various agencies and institutions.

Entrepreneurship Development

On-site training, project reports, bank finance and equity support hand- holding, marketing support by linkages and online portals etc.

NGOs

Support in establishment of NGOs, legal approvals, scaling up, funding support, opportunities sharing.

Education

Sharing admission notices, scholarships, coaching, assisting with admissions, securing financial support, bank loans for courses.

Businesses

Assistance in startups, securing agencies, enterprise development, assistance with loans, scaling up, tender sharing, marketing support by linkages and online portals etc.

Farming and Farm Ventures

Schemes, subsidies, projects, finance, training, marketing support by linkages and online portals etc.

Welfare Schemes

Sharing opportunities, schemes, workshops, facilitation in availing Government mega schemes, partnering on government projects, and corporate CSR programs.

Services

States’ e-portals, driving license, basic certificates, land records, various forms, banking, insurance, Aadhaar card, passport, using mobile Apps etc.

Social Sector

District, block and panchayat centers for supporting application process for subsidies, scholarships, financial inclusion, pensions, health cover etc.
